How to easily ask providers for an update on a referral
Providers who receive referrals should get in touch with the person who was referred, to try and win new business. Sometimes they will forget to update Reco with progress. As the referrer you may know that the person you referred has signed up or is waiting for a contact. As the person who was referred, you will know if you have received the service or not.
Both the referrer and the person who was referred can prompt the provider to update the status of the referral.
How to Prompt the Provider as the Referrer
If your referral has been sitting in a status for a while and you'd like the provider to take action and update it, you can send them a prompt. You can do this from your account or from the status page (this is of the form my.reco.tips/c/[code]) without logging in:
When the Referral Is Active
- Tap Request Update on the referral card
- This sends the provider a notification asking them to check whether your friend has used their service
- You can do this once every 7 days per referral
When the Referral Is Signed Up
- Tap Request Reward on the referral card
- This sends the provider a notification asking them to process your reward
- You can do this once every 7 days per referral
How to Prompt the Provider as the Person Who Was Referred
If you have received a service from a provider, you can update the status so that the provider is reminded to provide the reward to the person that referred you.
All you need to do is press "Yes, I received the service" using the link sent to you when you received the referral (this is of the form my.reco.tips/c/[code]) without logging in. Alternatively if you have a reco account you can do this against your referral.
The person provider will receive an email asking them to update the status. We do not send an email to the person that referred you, but you can tell them personally if you wish.
